CSC Wins Aussie Contract

A consortium led by Computer Sciences Corp. has won a five-year, $103 million outsourcing contract for information technology services to the Northern Territory government in Australia.

A consortium led by Computer Sciences Corp. has won a five-year, $103 million outsourcing contract for information technology services to the Northern Territory government in Australia.

Under the contract, the CSC team will provide a standardized operating platform for 11,000 desktop computers for 33 government agencies throughout the territory. The team comprises 14 local and international companies.

The contract is the largest of the $260 million worth of IT outsourcing packages released by the Northern Territory government. It is part of its overall strategy to foster growth in the local IT industry, said Peter Adamson, the Northern Territory's minister for corporate and information services.
