Transportation Awards $980 Million STATUS Contracts

The Transportation Department's Transportation Acquisition Service Center selected contractors for its seven-year, $980 million Specialized Technical and Technology User Support (STATUS) contract May 21.

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract consists of five specialized technical areas.

Twenty-six companies qualified for geographic, geospatial information systems. This specialized area includes technologies such as spatial, photo and topographical data, imagery, mapping and geospatial information systems.

Twenty companies were selected for artificial intelligence. This area includes computer-based expert and knowledge management systems, robotics, autonomous reasoning and human and machine interface software.

The other three specialized technical areas were wireless technologies and networks (27 companies), e-learning and e-learning management (31 companies), and operation maintenance support (67 companies).
