BTG Inc. has won a seven-year, $60 million contract to develop and provide an integrated broadcast service to the Department of Defense, the company said May 14.

BTG of Fairfax, Va., will lead a team of nine other companies, including Boeing Co. of Seattle; Raytheon Co. of Lexington, Mass.; and two subsidiaries of Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles.

The primary mission of the IBS program, which is being managed by the Air Force Electronic Systems Center, is to distribute data to military commanders about allied and enemy troop movements, aircraft and ships, and geographic data and weapons.

BTG competed against Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md., and TRW Corp. of Cleveland to win this phase of the project. All three companies won six-month contracts last year for the first phase of IBS, covering program definition and risk reduction.
