Kirsch to Lead Unisys Fed Government Group

Unisys Corp. has appointed Ira Kirsch vice president and general manager of its U.S. Federal Government Group.

Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., has appointed Ira Kirsch vice president and general manager of the Unisys U.S. Federal Government Group. He takes over for Dan Moats, who has been acting general manager of the unit since last year.

Kirsch, a 30-year employee of the company, most recently served as vice president and general manager of e-business solutions for North America, Unisys Global Industries. Before that, he led the Unisys Public Sector North Region, the company's largest U.S. region.

Kirsch served as vice president and general manager of the Unisys Systems and Technology United States Northern Region, where he had significant involvement in public-sector business.

In the state of New York, Kirsch led an agencywide modernization procurement project in the Health and Human Services Agency for Unisys that resulted in a $100 million award. During his tenure as head of the northern regional unit, revenue at his division increased by 45 percent over three years.

The U.S. Federal Government Group, based in McLean, Va., has been serving the federal market for five decades. It provides information technology services in a wide range of areas, including systems integration, outsourcing and network infrastructure.

Unisys' federal unit is comprised of approximately 3,000 employees, mostly concentrated at facilities in northern Virginia, with other locations elsewhere in the United States.
