Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., won the Hong Kong government's first departmentwide information technology outsourcing contract.

Unisys' contract with the Hong Kong Judiciary Department is worth $88 million in Hong Kong dollars ($11.28 million U.S.) over five years. It covers the development of new systems, including public information kiosks and public payment system, a pilot electronic filing project for Inland Revenue Department claims and ongoing systems support and maintenance.

Existing government IT employees at Judiciary will be shifted elsewhere, according to a spokesman for Hong Kong's IT services department. He added the IT department and the Judiciary Department will monitor Unisys' performance on the project.
