There are about 140 terminals and 60 printers located in the IHSS county offices. The operation of the CMIPS has always been contracted out to the vendor community with the state maintaining an oversight role. The state plans to continue outsourcing the project. The plans to procure an Automated Fingerprint Information System for its image identification system. The solicitation is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2001.The state plans to have a fingerprint system in approximately 40 locations. The system may eventually include facial imaging as well. The AFIS component will eventually be integrated with the state's electronic benefits transfer system.The is exploring ways to implement a point-of-sale system for Medicaid purchases at all in-state pharmacies. The solicitation is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2000.The functional requirements phase of the state's Medicaid Management Information System project will incorporate requirements for the Pharmacy Point of Sale System. The point-of-sale component and the MMIS project may be combined into one solicitation.The will procure services to automate criminal court records for the state's Courts of Common Pleas. The solicitation is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2001.The Pennsylvania State Court System consists of 551 magisterial districts that handle more than 2.5 million criminal cases per year. The AOSC requires vendor assistance in automating its criminal appeals processes for the state's Courts of Common Pleas (60 districts in 67 counties). The court system has 32 AS/400s distributed throughout the state.
