JULY 25 ? Systems Consultants Inc., a provider of integrated solutions for the public sector, was selected July 24 as the e-government solutions provider for the city of Lynnwood, Wash.

The contract is worth $558,000 for hardware, software and services plus first year maintenance by SCI of St. Louis. This contract is part of a two-year upgrade plan for Lynnwood with a budget of $1.5 million.

SCI will provide Lynnwood a variety of Web-based solutions to manage its government financial, payroll and property management applications services.

As part of the e-government solution from SCI, Lynnwood has the option of implementing SCI's information and transaction portal later. The portal includes information specific to the city, county, school district or other public-sector entity.

"We chose SCI because of the breadth of application features they offer, including their Web-enabled software," said Mike Bailey, e-government project director and Lynnwood's director of administration services. "The direction SCI is going with their e-government solutions is in line with our vision to make government information and processes available to our citizens via the Internet."

SCI's vision for e-government is for citizens and businesses to access information and services without having to leave their homes or offices, said Jack Sharp, SCI chairman and chief executive officer.

SCI offers state, county and local governments; public utilities and school districts a full range of Internet-enabled financial, payroll and human resources, property management software and e-government services.
