Fresno Chooses Intelect for Transportation Work

JULY 5 ? Intelect Network Technologies has signed a contract valued at $100,000 to provide Fresno, Calif., with a fiber-optic platform that will serve as the backbone of the city's intelligent transportation system.
INT, a subsidiary of Richardson, Texas-based Intelect Communications Inc., will serve as a subcontractor to systems integrator McCain Traffic Supply Inc. OF Vista, Calif.
Intelect's OmniLYNX platform will provide Fresno with broadband fiber optic capability and expand substantially the video and data capabilities of Fresno's existing traffic management system. Enhancements to the system can be performed while passing live data traffic without affecting services in use, according to Intelect.
OmniLYNX is meeting the needs of transportation agencies to integrate future technology with legacy systems in more than a dozen states.

"Its vast scalability and versatility make it the ideal platform for Fresno's broadband networking needs.
"It also allows the city of Fresno to offer a superior solution to the traditional network platforms and remain responsive to its customers' present and future needs efficiently and economically," he said.
