SRA to Sell PeerLogic's Software to Feds

JUNE 8 ? SRA International Inc., a Fairfax, Va., systems integrator, has signed a pact with PeerLogic Inc. to sell that company's business integration software to the federal government. PeerLogic of San Francisco makes software that allows the migration of mainframe computer applications to Unix and Windows servers.
Migrating from mainframe computers to servers can save agencies money, said Jon Brody, vice president of product marketing at PeerLogic.
"Our experience with commercial customers shows that LiveContent Trans [PeerLogic's software] can dramatically reduce costs for most applications," Brody said.
PeerLogic's software has components that are equivalent to software used in mainframe applications for things such as transaction processing, indexing files, relational database support and job processing.
The company has installed its software for about 700 commercial customers.
"With about 1,400 mainframes installed in federal agencies, the use of LiveContent Trans on Unix or Windows NT systems will save taxpayer dollars and improve performance and customer service," Brody said.
SRA and PeerLogic have worked together to develop migration strategies, implement cost-saving solutions and design enhancements to LiveContent Trans for the federal government market, company officials said.
