The Vermont Human Services Agency's Social Welfare Department has awarded a $490,000 contract for a needs assessment and design study of the state's Medicaid Management Information System to Maximus of Burlington, Vt. Maximus will provide the state with research and consulting services during the planning, design, procurement and implementation phases of a new system.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has awarded four vendors a $13 million contract for the implementation of an automated traffic management system in the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

They are HNTB Corp. of Indianapolis, Iron Mountain System Inc. of Indianapolis, Smart Route of Cambridge, Mass., and the Fairfax, Va., unit of TRW Inc. Services include planning, design, operation and system integration.

Iron Mountain is included in the consulting team to provide software modification and other related systems, as the company produced the Borman software being used for the project.


 


Washington state's King County (E)9-1-1 Program Office has awarded a $1.35 million contract to PRC Public Sector of McLean, Va., to construct and operate a public safety data network.

The system is designed to be easy for users to operate and is based on intranet technology.

The goal of the system is to provide a simple, reliable way for important written information and raw data to be shared among public safety answering stations and with the county (E)9-1-1 Program Office.


 


Iowa's Information Technology Services has awarded a contract estimated at $20,000 to the State Public Policy Group in Des Moines and the Center for Digital Government of Sacramento, Calif.

Under the contract, the two companies will provide services to a transition team in support of the Information Technology Department being formed by the state.


 


Federal Sources Inc.'s state and local division compiles these contracts. Federal Sources is a market research firm in McLean, Va.
