Maryland has awarded TimeBridge Technologies, Lanham, Md., an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to provide enhanced communications systems for public institutions statewide. The contract has no maximum value, but TimeBridge officials expect it to generate $30 million to $50 million in revenue. All Maryland state and local agencies, universities, school systems and nonprofit organizations have access to this purchasing vehicle, which offers products from Cisco Systems. The University of Maryland is one of the first to install new equipment purchased from the contract. Johns Hopkins University and Anne Arundel County are expected to use the contract as well. TimeBridge, which was recently spun off from Sylvest Management Corp., also will provide service and maintenance support.
Fulton County, Ga., has selected Peritus Software Services Inc., Billerica, Mass., and Hitachi Data Systems, Santa Clara, Calif., to provide year 2000 services under a multimillion-dollar contract. Peritus will provide its Enterprise Renovation Suite/2000 to perform inventory analysis, assessment and correction of the year 2000 software problem.
