Santa Clara, Calif.-based Active Software Inc. promoted Elisa Levitz Cafferky to director of federal operations. She will be responsible for managing and broadening Active Software's presence in the federal market in Washington. She joined the company in 1996.

Washington-based Holland & Knight LLP announced that Richard Duvall has been selected as the executive partner of the firm's Northern Virginia office in Falls Church, Va. Duvall focuses his practice on government contracts litigation and commercial litigation.

Sprint PCS, Bethesda, Md., named Brian McIntee area vice president for the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore market. McIntee, previously the chief financial officer of APC/Sprint Spectrum, will now be responsible for all sales, marketing, service and financial operations for the region.

SCO, Santa Cruz, Calif., promoted Wayne Bergland to vice president of U.S. field sales. In his new role, he will run the field sales organizations, including corporate account managers and channel sales managers. Bergland has been with the company since 1990.

Bloomfield, Conn.-based Kaman Corp. promoted Patricia Goldenberg to assistant treasurer. She joined Kaman in 1987.

New Hires

Fairfax, Va.-based NeuralTech Inc. appointed Guy Clifton as vice president of worldwide sales. He will be responsible for software sales activities throughout North and South America. Clifton was previously with Equifax Inc.

Michael Yarymovych has joined Arlington, Va.-based Anser as chief science adviser. Anser is a not-for-profit public service research institute. Most recently, Yarymovych was vice president for international technology for the Boeing Co.

Young & Associates, a high-tech public relations firm in Rockville, Md., has hired Matthew Graves as associate account executive. He previously served in the Boston communications office of Sen. John Kerry, and in the Washington offices of Eisner, Petrou & Associates.

Corning Inc. of Corning, N.Y., has appointed Timothy Regan vice president and director of worldwide government affairs. Regan will lead Corning's Washington office and be responsible for all federal, state and international public policy issues that affect Corning and its business units.

Executive Moves

Electronic Funds Transfer Association of Herndon, Va., has elected to its board of directors Steven Wright, chief operating officer and co-founder of Portland, Ore.-based Card Capture Services Inc., and Frank Wilem Jr., executive vice president of Triton Systems Inc., Long Beach, Miss.

Wright co-founded Card Capture Services with Jeffrey Jetton in 1993. He was previously sales manager for Cardservice of Portland. Wilem, a co-founder of Triton Systems, has served as the company's executive vice president and director since 1979.

Klein Technologies Inc., Vienna, Va., appointed three new members to its board of directors: Edward Broenniman, Francesco Calabrese and Charles Heller.

Broenniman is managing director of the Piedmont Group and is entrepreneur in residence at the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business. Calabrese is a management and business development consultant through FAC Technology Inc. Heller is director of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business as well as the head of Annapolis Consulting Group.

The company also appointed Maureen Fitzgerald as vice president of administration. Fitzgerald has held executive and management positions with NCI Information Systems, I-Net and Medical Service Corporation International.

Vasco Data Security International Inc. of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., and Brussels, Belgium, appointed three industry executives to its board of directors: Michael Cullinane, executive vice president and CFO of Platinum Technology Inc.; Pol Hauspie, co-founder, chairman and managing director of Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products NV; and Mario Houthooft, managing director of Vasco Data Security in Brussels. Vasco provides information security solutions such as smart cards and biometric technology.

Breece Hill Technologies, Boulder, Colo., hired Timothy Caldwell as director of original equipment manufacturer sales. The company also promoted Jason Shulman to western regional sales manager. Breece Hill develops, manufactures and markets tape-
library systems that serve the mid-range and client/server market.

Rye, N.Y.-based ET Systems Inc. added Lloyd Lemish and Bill Oggeri to its sales force. Lemish was previously with Champlain Cable Corp. and Oggeri was previously with ACE Wire and Cable. ET Systems designs and supplies solutions for voice, video and data communications.

Hansol Multitech, La Palma, Calif., appointed Michael Buskey as vice president of marketing and sales. Buskey will develop the company's sales and program strategy for the North American monitor market as well as the Canadian, Mexican and South American markets. Hansol Multitech is a manufacturer of digital communications equipment and computer peripherals.

Roseburg, Ore.-based TMS Inbound Call Center appointed Steve Bennett director of sales and marketing. He previously held positions with FedEx and TeleService Technologies.

Gelco Information Network, Minneapolis, appointed Neil Vill as president
and CEO. Vill was most recently vice
president and general manager of the New Media and Transportation Data Management Division of Rand McNally & Co. Gelco helps companies streamline management
of travel expenses and trade promotion funds.
