PRC Inks Y2K Deal with UK Firm: Litton-PRC Inc., McLean, Va., gave its year 2000 remediation practice an international boost by signing a two-year deal with George James Ltd., a London company that makes an automated tool for fixing M-code software programs. M-code, also known as Mumps, is used widely in financial and health care mainframe applications. PRC will be the exclusive U.S. provider of the George James tool and take it to international markets.

CSC Plucks PRC Exec: Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo, Calif., in late May named Austin Yerks, a PRC vice president, the senior vice president for business development at its new defense group. CSC created the defense group in March as part of its government division reorganization. Yerks had been with PRC 14 years.

CSC, Manugistics Form Alliance: Computer Sciences Corp. was also busy teaming with Manugistics Inc., Rockville, Md., forming an alliance that will target supply chain solutions. CSC brings its consulting expertise to the table, and Manugistics will supply software. The two also will work together to make industry-specific best practice templates for other markets.

Digital Forms Alliance With China Integrator: Digital Equipment Corp., Maynard, Mass., has formed a joint venture with Beijing Founder Electronics Corp., the largest systems integrator in China. The joint venture, called Beijing Founder Di Cheng Information Technology Company Ltd., will provide network and systems integration services to national and multinational companies in China.

China's IT market is expected to grow 35 percent per year by 2000. In 1996, the market for systems integration services was $71.2 million; by 2000 it will reach $236.9 million, according to Dataquest, a market research firm in Westborough, Mass.

MicroAge Selects Asset Management Partner: MicroAge Inc., Phoenix, has picked Technology Asset Management, Naperville, Ill., as a strategic partner for designing and delivering asset management services to MicroAge customers. TAM will work with MicroAge's integration arm, which provides services such as IT infrastructure, systems management and project management.
