The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety, in conjunction with the Department of Information Services in Carson City, selected Deloitte & Touche, Las Vegas, to develop and implement system recommendations for the Motor Vehicles Branch Business Process Reengineering Project. The contract, awarded in February, is valued at $8.1 million.

The New York Standards and Purchase Group at the General Services Office in Albany has extended its statewide hardware term contract for Dell PCs to Dell Marketing LP, Round Rock, Texas. The contract, extended through May 31, 1999, is valued at $7 million. The group also extended the same contract for Gateway 2000 PCs to Government Computer Sales, Redmond, Wash. That contract, also extended through May 31, 1999, is valued at $1 million.

The Delaware Department of Health Services in New Castle has chosen Phoenix Planning & Evaluation, Rockville, Md., for the planning phase of an optical card/magnetic stripe Electronic Benefits Transfer project. The contract, awarded in January, is valued at $89,000.

The Florida Department of Management Services in Tallahassee has tapped Whareforce, El Segundo, Calif., for Corel software, licenses and maintenance. The contract, awarded in November 1997, is valued at $1 million.

The Alabama Administrative Office of Courts in Montgomery has selected IBM, Mobile, Ala., to provide a mainframe upgrade for the state's Integrated Courts System. The contract, awarded in December, is valued at $680,000.

The Michigan Department of Management & Budget's Procurement and Information Technology Office in Lansing has selected Keane Inc., Southfield, Mich., to provide an assessment study of the state's year 2000 problem. The contract is valued at $502,000.

Financial Systems Product, Seattle, will provide an integrated imaging system for Washington state's unemployment insurance systems. The contract, valued at $2 million, was awarded in February by the Washington Department of Employment Security in Olympia.
