Executive Moves

BTG Inc. of Fairfax, Va., appointed Albert E. Mazei senior vice president and chief information officer, while Linda Hill has been promoted to senior vice president in the company's Integration and Network Systems group.

Oracle Corp., Bethesda, Md., announced that Joseph A. Chalmers has joined Oracle Government, Education & Health as vice president of higher education consulting. With more than 30 years of experience working in higher education institutions, both as a university administrator and in information technology consulting, Chalmers will help Oracle further develop its rapidly growing higher education business.

Government Technology Services Inc. of Chantilly, Va., has appointed Carolyn L. Redmon senior vice president of sales operations. GTSI, an information technology reseller, also promoted Stephen L. Waechter to senior vice president.

OAO Corp., Greenbelt, Md., has selected James R. Korfanta to manage its Mission and Computing Support Division. Korfanta has more than 30 years experience in the engineering and aerospace industry. OAO also appointed Ken Carlsen to the position of director of strategic planning for its Defense Systems Group in Colorado Springs, Colo. Prior to joining OAO, Carlsen was executive director of information technology for MCI in Colorado Springs.

Ron Leonard has joined Advanced Concepts Inc. of Columbia, Md., as vice president, Northern Virginia Division, in McLean, Va. Advanced Concepts also named Dave Engle director of federal programs in the Northern Virginia Division.

CACI International Inc., Arlington, Va., appointed Bobby Adams as director of its Orlando-based Training Simulation Division. Adams comes to CACI after completing several successful assignments in government and industry associated with the Army Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation Command and the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division.

SRA International Inc., Fairfax, Va., has hired Anthony M. Valletta as vice president of SRA federal systems. Valletta will be responsible for helping SRA better serve its federal government customers, particularly within the Department of Defense. Prior to joining SRA, Valletta served as the acting assistant secretary for command, control, communications and intelligence at DoD.

Cabletron Systems, Rochester, N.H., in a continued effort to expand its international presence, has announced the following appointments: Guy Buyst was named executive vice president and president of Europe, Africa and the Middle East; and John Winchester was named executive vice president, and president of Asia Pacific operations. In corporate news, Donald Reed resigned as president and chief executive officer of Cabletron only eight months after being hired to turn around the computer-networking manufacturer. He was replaced in both posts by Cabletron's chairman and co-founder, Craig R. Benson.

Promotions

MCI Communications Corp., Washington, has named Jerry A. Edgerton to the position of senior vice president of government markets. Edgerton joined the company in 1988 to oversee strategic initiatives, sales and implementation of MCI services in the federal market.

AEC Software Inc. of Sterling, Va., has promoted Ryan Kish as marketing communications manager. AEC develops and publishes business productivity software.

Federal Sources Inc. of McLean, Va., has announced the following staff changes: Amy Scott was promoted to marketing manager in the Sales and Marketing Division; Greg Wilska has been named a market research analyst in FSI's Fedmark Fed-500 Group; Michael Williamson has joined the State and Local Division as a research analyst; Mary T. Gostel has been promoted to director of strategic accounts in the Sales and Marketing Division; and Sun Kim has been promoted to web/distribution specialist in the Fedmark Division.
