IBM Corp. of Armonk, N.Y., bolstered its e-business services by adding a security portfolio that includes training, assessment, design, implementation and operational services.

IBM officials say e-business will be an important revenue source for the company in both commercial and government markets.

Wang, Microsoft Expand Relationship into Five Areas:
A strategic alliance between Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. and Wang Global of Billerica, Mass., will focus on five areas. They are: migration to the latest Microsoft 32-bit desktop technologies; networking, messaging and intranet infrastructure; strategic Internet and electronic-commerce applications; comprehensive networked technology services; and component-based vertical applications.

The alliance, formed in late March, expands on an existing pact. The agreement will bring together Microsoft's enterprise platform and Wang's consulting, support and integration portfolio, the companies said.

As part of the strategic alliance, Wang will train and certify 2,500 professionals as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and Microsoft Certified Solution Developers. Wang also will open two Centers of Excellence, one in Billerica and one in Italy.
