The Orkand Corp., Falls Church, Va., was awarded two task orders through the Chief Information Officers Solutions and Partners program. A task order with the U.S. Agency for International Development is valued at $4.8 million and a task order with the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration is valued at $1.6 million. CACI International Inc., Arlington, Va., was awarded a one-year, $4.3 million contract to provide year 2000 planning, conversion and verification services to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in Washington. Orbital Sciences Corp., Dulles, Va., was awarded a $5 million contract by the National Polar-Orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System's Integrated Program Office for the design and development of the United States' next-generation, space-based ozone monitoring sensor. Government Micro Resources, Manassas, Va., was awarded a multicompany national blanket purchase agreement by the General Services Administration's Office of Information Technology Integration in Washington. The BPA focuses on streamlining the federal government's acquisition of information technology products and professional services. The estimated minimum contract award value is $100 million over three years. The General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, known as FEDSIM, has awarded SRA International Inc. of Arlington, Va., a competitive task order contract to support information and data management systems for the Office of Mobile Sources at the Environmental Protection Agency. This task order has an estimated value of $1.1 million over three and one-half years. SRA and its subcontractors, Hughes, GSS and Sand Dollar Software, will assess the existing OMS network; create a network design and implementation plan; and implement the approved design. SRA will also maintain current computer and network systems and provide disaster recovery and contingency planning.
Department of Defense Alex Computer Systems Inc., Ithaca, N.Y., was awarded a $10 million, five-year, fixed price contract to supply commercial, off-the-shelf SHARC-based products to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division in Bethesda, Md. Alex products will be the fundamental building blocks for the development, prototyping and production of multiple, advanced digital signal processing applications including shipboard sonar, simulation and training systems. Lockheed Martin Aircraft Center of Greenville, S.C., awarded CAM Systems Inc. of Alexandria, Va., a one-year contract worth more than $300,000 to update the Navy C-9B aircraft technical publications. Silicon Graphics Inc., Mountain View, Calif., in conjunction with subcontractor Cordant/Tracor Information Systems Co., won an indefinite-delivery contract from the Virginia Contracting Activity potentially worth $35 million. Through this five-year, Systems Acquisition and Support Services II contract, the Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems can purchase the entire SGI hardware line and its peripherals. Wang Government Services in McLean, Va., was selected by the U.S. Navy as part of the Lucent Technologies team to provide technical services for the $2.9 billion Voice, Video and Data contract, known as ViViD. Lucent is the primary contractor for ViViD, a fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that provides the Navy with the hardware, software and services to upgrade its communications infrastructure. The Lucent team includes Wang, BBN, CACI, Mandex, NCI Information Systems, PRC, SAIC, Ameritech, Bell South SBC Communications and US West. Nichols Research Corp., Huntsville, Ala., was awarded a three-year $103.9 million contract by the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command. Nichols and its subcontractors will provide system engineering, integration and simulation services.
