Data Is Sacred

Your article "Right to Know vs. Right to Sell" (WT, July 10) forgot the most important right of all; the right to be left alone. The data local governments collect on their citizens is a sacred trust, not merchandise to be sold, either directly or as part of an outsourcing contract.

Setting the Record Straight

A quick note to set the record straight concerning the list of hot IDIQ contracts in the story "The Hot Government IT Tickets" (WT, June 12) Although omitted on your list, Computer Sciences Corp. is indeed a prime contractor on both the Information Technology Omnibus Procurement with the Department of Transportation and on the Chief Information Officers Solutions and Partners contract with the National Institutes of Health.
