Bits & bytes VETERAN INFO AT KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL Visitors to the Korean War Memorial in Washington will be able to carry away a personal memento. By using an on-site computer, visitors can search a database containing service records of soldiers killed in the Korean War. The system, developed by IBM, Armonk, N.Y., will print a commemorative certificate with the name of the veteran, photo if available, and other service information. IBM donated about $100,000 in hardware, software, programming services and maintenance support for the project.
