ARINC Inc., Annapolis, Md., signed a $9.5 million contract with the Xuzhou Guanyin Airport Corp., Jiangsu Province, China. The contract is for the integration of systems and equipment for the Guanyin Airport.

Smith Technology Corp., Newport Beach Calif., modified its Zone 4A Emergency Response Cleanup Services contract with the Environmental Protection Agency increasing the contract ceiling by $18 million.

Unisys Corp., McLean, Va., was awarded the Consolidated LAN Maintenance contract from the U.S. Social Security Administration. The five-year, $14.9 million contract covers LAN support and maintenance.

Government Telecommunications Inc., Chantilly, Va., was awarded a three-year contract with the General Services Administration for purchase of telecommunications equipment and services throughout various fed-eral government facilities in the state of New Jersey. The company also landed a deal to provide equipment and services to facilities in one-half of the New York GSA facilities.

Diagnostic Retrieval Systems Inc., Parsippany, NJ, was awarded a $1.3 million contract with a ceiling value of $2 million, from Lockheed Martin Tactical Defense Systems, Eagan, Minn. Under the terms, DRS will develop and manufacture the replacement data storage system for the Royal Norwegian Air Force.

Orkand Corp., Tysons Corner, Va., was awarded a task order contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to provide microfilm quality inspection services at the NOAA National Climatic Data Center, Asheville, N.C.

Computer Data Systems Inc., Rockville, Md., received a contract from the General Services Administration with a potential value of $310 million. If all options are exercised, the technical support will last through 2002.

NORDX/CDT Inc., Montreal, Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cable Design Technologies Corp., announced that Nortel Communications Systems, Foster City, Calif., awarded it a $1.8 million contract for installation of an IBDN structured cabling system for installation at a new LSI Logic campus in Gresham, Ore.

Department of Defense

Logicon Inc., Los Angeles, was awarded a contract from the U.S. Army to support the training of units using battle simulations. The contract work will be performed over four years and is worth an estimated $26 million.

Sanders, Nashua, N.H., received a $56 million contract from the Department of the Navy for the continued production of Combat Direction Finding systems for installation on a variety of U.S. Navy ships.

The company also received an $8.9 million contract from the Department of the Navy for the advanced technology demonstration phase of the Multifunction Electromagnetic Radiating System program.

CACI International Inc., Arlington, Va., was awarded a five-year contract estimated at $22.5 million from the Commander, U.S. Atlantic Fleet Integrated Logistics Overhaul Activity in Portsmouth, Va.

Hughes Information Technology Systems, Reston, Va., was awarded a $500 million IDIQ contract for the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center Command and Control Product Lines program.

ViaSat Inc., Carlsbad, Calif., won an $8.6 million contract for UHF satellite communications products from the U.S. Air Force Electronics Systems Center. The contract is for 207 satellite communications modems and 78 control indicators.

Other

Motorola Cellular Infrastructure Group, Arlington Heights, Ill., signed a $16 million contract with China Unicom, Jiangsu Providence, China, to deploy a digital cellular phone network. The company also landed a $35 million deal with Wireless North, Fargo, N.D., to provide digital code division access equipment.
