CONTRACTS

P Deal of the Fortnight AlliedSignal Technical Services Corp., Columbia, Md., received a $197 million contract modification from NASA for additional work on the Network and Mission Operations Support contract at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. The original contract awarded to AlliedSignal is worth approximately $1.9 billion, which does not include the value of the consolidated NMOS contract. The Systems Sciences Division of Computer Sciences Corp., Calverton, Md.,

AlliedSignal Technical Services and Computer Sciences will perform consolidated work on the NMOS contract. AlliedSignal will operate, maintain and repair telecommunications, optics, television systems and meteorological forecasting at Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Va. Computer Sciences will provide software systems, engineering and analysis support at Goddard.

The contract will run through September 1997.

Department of Defense
ManTech Solutions Corp., Springfield, Va., received a $4.1 million contract from the new Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, for 1,000 medical imaging "virtual desktop" workstations.

CEXEC Inc. of Vienna, Va., has been awarded a five-year, $16 million contract with the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. CEXEC will provide support to the FM Directorate for cost research, cost estimating, scheduling, budgeting, program management and cost schedule control systems support.

SRA International Inc. of Arlington, Va., was awarded a contract to provide data quality engineering support services to the U.S. Marine Corps. The contract was awarded by the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center and is valued at $4.3 million over 26 months.

General Government
CTA Inc., Rockville, Md., has been awarded a five-year contract by the Drug Enforcement Administration to provide engineering and technical services related to the uses of satellite technology for DEA operations.

GTE, Chantilly, Va., announced it will add on-line weather and flight planning services to the general aviation community under a new, $20 million contract from the Federal Aviation Administration. The contract is for one year with four, one-year options.

Vistronix Inc., Vienna, Va., was awarded an expansion on its contract until the year 2000 to provide communications and software engineering, records management and technical training support to the Personnel Office of the Department of Justice-Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys. The new contract value is $6.3 million.

Other
Sun Microsystems Federal Inc. awarded Wang of Billerica, Mass., a seven-year contract valued at $30 million for maintenance services. Wang will provide installation and warranty support services for Sun workstations and servers as part of the Air Force Workstations program.

BDM Federal Inc., McLean, Va., has been awarded a subcontract from Amdahl Corp. worth $40 million to provide information systems support to the U.S. Postal Service's Production Operations Group. The Amdahl/BDM team will provide a broad range of information systems and services to automate existing processes and develop overall business solutions for the Postal Service's Production Operations Group.

Canonie Technologies Inc., a wholly owned SMTH subsidiary, was awarded a $6.8 million contract from AlliedSignal Inc. for the remediation of the UOP Uplands site in New Jersey. The project, which includes the excavation and thermal treatment of VOC and PCB contaminated soils, will also include the installation and operation of a leachate collection system and water treatment plant, rehabilitation of the on-site sewer system, construction of a multimedia cap and restoration of nearby wetlands.
