P Department of Defense Mercury Computer Systems Inc., Chelmsford, Mass., has been awarded a two-year cooperative agreement by the Advanced Research Projects Agency in conjunction with the Rome Laboratory, Griffis Air Force Base in New York. The agreement will focus on developing a software environment, which allows signal and image processing projects to move rapidly from prototyping to deployment without the traditional re-recording. The cost-shared contract is worth $1 million.P

Analysis & Technology Inc., North Stonington, Conn., announced that its information technology subsidiary, Integrated Performance Decisions Inc., has won a contract with the Advanced Systems Technology Office of the Naval Sea Systems Command. The five-year contract is worth $33 million. IPD and its subcontractor will develop combat system tactical decision aids and sensor performance prediction systems for surface ships, submarines, aircraft and land-based command centers.

Advanced Communication Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va., was awarded a five-year, $84.4 million contract from SPAWAR. The contract covers systems engineering, technical analyses and program management support to Navy Satellite Communications, Submarine Communications and Communication Systems Engineering.

Computer Data Systems Inc., Rockville, Md., has been awarded a subcontract by Systems Research and Applications Corp. The five-year, $12.5 million contract will provide software support services to the U.S. Army Information Systems Software Center under the Umbrella 3 project.

General Government
SatCon Technology Corp., Cambridge, Mass., has been awarded $75,000 by the National Science Foundation, Small Business Innovation Research Program to develop an integrated bearing and motoring system for use in semiconductor manufacturing. SatCon has three other SBIR contracts, each valued at $75,000.

Other
Ericsson, Richardson, Texas, has signed a multimillion dollar contract with AT&ampT Wireless Services for the supply and installation of the new, high-performance Personal Air Communications Technology.

AlliedSignal Technical Services Corp., Columbia, Md., has been awarded a $375,000 contract from Motorola's Satellite Communications Division. AlliedSignal will provide prelaunch support, control and communications for the satellite system, IRIDIUM, being developed by Iridium Inc., a global wireless telecommunications venture.

Alcatel, Richardson, Texas, will supply Shell Offshore Services Co. with communications equipment in an $18.3 million contract. Alcatel will supply microwave radios, digital cross connects and other communications gear for Shell's telecommunications network, Gulfnet 6000, based in the Gulf of Mexico.

TriTeal Corp., Carlsbad, Calif., signed an agreement with Ryoyo Electro Corp. for exclusive distribution rights to TriTeal desktop and Internet/intranet products throughout Japan. The agreement is valued at more than $5 million.

Orbital Sciences Corp., Dulles, Va., announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., has won a two-year, $13 million contract to supply simulator/trainers to the Canadian Navy. The Naval Combat Operator Trainer system will provide onshore training for the officers and equipment operators of four Tribal Class destroyers and 12 frigates.

Booz-Allen &amp Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va., was awarded a $20 million, one-year contract to support eight Environmental Protection Agency offices. Booz-Allen will provide hotline specialists to answer complex questions about EPA regulations for major EPA programs; work with EPA on new regulatory initiatives; provide extensive regulatory training to hotline staff and EPA employees; and prepare regulatory information for publication.
