<B>TO A CORNER OFFICE...</B><BR>Robert Ewald has been promoted from executive vice president of development to chief operating officer at Cray Research Inc., Eagan, Minn.

Washington, D.C.-based MCI promoted Timothy Price to executive vice president and group president of its Communications Services Group. Scott Ross, formerly senior vice president of business and financial services for MCI Business Markets, will replace Price as the president of the unit. William Wooten was promoted to senior vice president of Human Resources for Communications Services.

Edwin Hind joined Washington, D.C.-based International Technology and Trade Associates Inc. as vice president.

Hadron, Inc., Fairfax, Va., named George E. Fowler president, in addition to his duties as chief operating officer.

DirecTV Inc., a unit of GM Hughes Electronics, named L. William Butterworth executive vice president, responsible for technical development of direct television; promoted Theresa Ferguson to vice president of business development, Edward Huguez to vice president of programming acquisition, and Steven Orland to vice president of operations. The company also promoted vice presidents David A. Baylor, Larry N. Chapman, Lawrence T. Driscoll, John P. Godwin, Steven B. Ste. Marie, and Louise M. Wildee to senior vice presidents.
