I enjoyed reading your article in WT Nov. 10 entitled, "A New Identity for a Political Town." If this technology area could come up with a moniker that resonates like "Silicon Valley," "The Research Triangle" or "Route 128," that would be great and probably overdue.
Few people know that Reston may be the mapping capital of the world. We have informally called Reston "Map Valley," deriving the term from both the well-known Silicon Valley and Sunrise Valley Drive. Regarding the suggested moniker "Netplex," we ought to do better. Netplex sounds a little corny and, as mentioned in your article, does not adequately encompass the range of technology in the area. How about something like "495 Circle"?
