<B>"NETPLEX" NOT THE BEST MONIKER</B><BR>I enjoyed reading your article in WT Nov. 10 entitled, "A New Identity for a Political Town." If this technology area could come up with a moniker that resonates like "Silicon Valley," "The Research Triangle" or "Route 128," that would be great and probably overdue.<BR>Few people know that Reston may be the mapping capital of the world. We have informally called Reston "Map Valley," deriving the term from both the well-known Silicon Valley and Sunrise Valley Drive. Furthermore, there are a host of other mapping-related companies around the Beltway, including EOSAT, STX, Fairchild Space and Defense, Orbital Science Corp., Martin Marietta and others.<BR>Regarding the suggested moniker "Netplex," we ought to do better. Netplex sounds a little corny and, as mentioned in your article, does not adequately encompass the range of technology in the area. How about something like "495 Circle"?<BR>
