Vienna, Va.-based BTG Inc. on July 1 purchased 100 percent of the outstanding stock of ACTech Inc., a value-added reseller and manufacturer of computer equipment based in Merrifield, Va.
ACTech, whose revenues totaled $15 million in 1993, manufactures its own line of customized high-performance Intel and RISC-chip-based computers sold under the name ACTion Systems. It has also signed an agreement to market the new DEC Alpha system.
"With BTG's financial resources behind us, ACTech can accelerate the revenue growth from our unique line of products and services," said Ruth R. Weiss, president of ACTech. The 42-employee company also has the only computer sales store in the Pentagon and plans to open an additional sales office this summer in the Naval Annex.
This is not the first acquisition for BTG and probably not the last. Twelve-year-old BTG purchased BDS Technologies in 1992, boosting revenues from $56.5 million to $103.6 million.
