Round 2: Navy adds 600 firms to $50B SeaPort services vehicle

The odds are very much in your favor if you submitted a proposal to gain a second shot at the Navy’s potential 10-year, $50 billion SeaPort Next Generation professional services contract vehicle.

Only 20 companies missed the cut for this latest round of awards, the Defense Department said in its Wednesday awards digest. New awards went to 600 firms in total, though the identities were not given in the digest.

Just shy of 2,500 businesses are now on the program that counts engineering support and program management support as its two broad work categories with 23 functional areas below them. Round one of awards took place in December 2018 with a similar theme: only 24 rejections and 1,870 awards.

Like for round one, price was not a factor in this rolling admission phase of the SeaPort NxG contract. All pricing competition takes place at the task order level.

Other agencies outside of the Navy and Marine Corps can place task orders against the vehicle.
