Redwire picks up another space component maker

Redwire, the AE Industrial Partners-backed space outfit, makes another acquisition to further build out its portfolio of components and other technologies that support the space platforms.
Redwire has made its fifth acquisition after the space technology company was unveiled under its current brand over the summer.
Redwire announced Tuesday its latest purchase is of LoadPath, a maker of payload adapters and other space infrastructure products for government and commercial entities.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed, but LoadPath’s co-founders Adam Biskner and Greg Sanford will join the Redwire management team.
Headquartered in New Mexico, LoadPath touts having supported at least 20 spaceflight missions for federal agencies such as NASA and the U.S. military along with private sector customers.
LoadPath’s portfolio of products includes deployable structures, thermal management and analysis components, and launch adapters.
Private equity firm AE Industrial Partners formed Redwire through a combination of two other businesses, one of which was acquired to help make that happen.
Redwire has since used that backing to make two more acquisitions of other space infrastructure outfits in Made In Space and Roccor. in October.
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP served as the financial adviser and Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as the legal advisor to Redwire. Butler Snow was the legal advisor and Pulakos CPAs served as the financial adviser to LoadPath.
