GSA gets push back on cancelled OASIS on-ramp

The General Services Administration is getting some push back on its decision not to make on ramp awards for new 8(a) small businesses in Pool 5b of the OASIS professional services vehicle.

GSA announced the decision Aug. 12 and protests started coming in last week to the Government Accountability Office from companies arguing not going forward with the awards was unreasonable.

The agency said it cancelled the on-ramp awards because there was not enough interest from potential bidders to run a competition. Pool 5b covers research and development efforts that would support space vehicles, guided missiles, propulsion units, and parts and services.

Protestors Tech7 Company, A. Prentice Ray & Associates, and Immersive Concepts. They all filed on Aug. 20 and decisions from GAO is expected by Dec. 2.

I’m not sure how far this one will go because this in essence is a cancelled procurement. There were no awards made. You may not like that they cancelled the awards, but it seems that sort of decision is something that seems to be pretty hard to protest.

We’ll see.
