Palantir gets $144M DOD commercial tech product supply contract

In another sign of Palantir’s ever-growing government footprint, the Silicon Valley software outfit has landed a potential five-year, $143.8 million sole source contract with the Navy to supply commercial IT products and services.

The contract is not limited to the Navy however. Other Defense Department agencies, the intelligence community and the Coast Guard can place orders against the contract that has one base year followed by four individual option years, DOD said in its Friday awards digest.

Palantir will provide commercial-off-the-shelf hardware, software and services to federal agencies.

Earlier this year, Palantir won the first task order on a contract for integration and other services work to support the Army’s main battlefield intelligence system. Palantir and Raytheon are the prime contractors for the Distributed Common Ground Systems-A program.

Getting on that contract required Palantir to go through the legal arena and eventually the Court of Federal Claims ordered the Army re-design the DCGS-A procurement to consider commercial offerings. The Army finalized awards to Palantir and Raytheon in March 2018.
