BAE's US group shuffles leadership team

BAE Systems’ U.S. subsidiary has made three appointments to its senior leadership team that include a pair of promotions from within and one new hire.

One of those promotions announced Thursday will see 21-year company veteran Leslie Jelalian move up to the restructured role of senior vice president of strategy and corporate development.

Jelalian will focus on leading BAE Systems Inc.’s growth strategy through organic opportunities in the U.S. and abroad; as well as initiatives related to acquisitions, divestitures and other investments. More recently, she led strategy and planning for the subsidiary’s electronic systems segment.

Also from within, BAE Systems Inc. promoted Alice Eldridge to senior vice president and general counsel and appointed her to the board of directors. Eldridge joined the subsidiary in 2012 and more recently was general counsel for its platforms and services segment. Prior to that, she held roles in various legal teams at Lockheed Martin.

Eldridge succeeds Ian Graham, who left BAE in May to become group general counsel at Ferguson PLC.

The external hire of former Honeywell executive Travis Garriss is for the newly-created position of senior vice president and chief information officer to oversee BAE Systems Inc.’s internal IT environment and help the subsidiary fulfill high-technology requirements.

Garriss most recently was CIO and vice president of user and functional enablement at Honeywell, which he first joined in 2007.
