Navy hands down $93M command, control research contract

The Navy awards a $93 million contract for services to help research, develop and innovate new command-and-control platforms.
Six companies have won positions on a potential 10-year, $93 million contract to help the Navy research, develop and innovate new command-and-control platforms.
The Navy received 14 total bids for the contract that includes an initial two-year base period followed by a pair of four-year options, the Defense Department said in its Tuesday awards digest.
Awardees are:
- Advanced Sciences and Technologies
- Data Intelligence
- Forward Slope
- G2 Software Systems
- Geocent
- Solute
Forward Slope and G2 Software Systems are incumbents that will continue their work on the new contract, according to Deltek data. Incumbents not selected were ISPA Technology, Pacific Science & Engineering and TechFlow.
Winners will bid for task orders to carry out systems engineering, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, configuration management, quality assurance, and implementation and support of C2 net-centric military operations.
Technology areas the Navy is interested in for this contract include service-oriented architectures, machine learning, social networking, database management and graphic information systems.
Work could take place through up to May 6, 2029 if all options are exercised.
