Lockheed hires new comms chief
Lockheed Martin hires former NASA press secretary and Honeywell executive Dean Acosta to lead communications.
Lockheed Martin said Wednesday it has hired former NASA press secretary and Honeywell executive Dean Acosta as senior vice president of communications in a move effective Monday.
Acosta more recently was vice president and chief communications officer for Resideo, the smart home technology company that spun out from former parent Honeywell in November of last year.
Prior to that, Acosta was vice president of global communications for Honeywell’s home and building technologies business, and before that for the conglomerate's automation and control solutions business.
As press secretary for NASA, he worked in that role during the aftermath of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and through the shuttle program’s return to flight.
This is a return to Lockheed for Acosta as he once was a communications director for its corporate engineering and technology organization.
