Air Force seeks better ground target systems

The Air Force is looking to develop a system that improves the gathering and sharing of information related to ground targets.
The Air Force is looking to develop a system for gathering and disseminating for tracking ground targets in theater.
The Control and Reporting Center operates a mobile command, control and communications radar element in the Air Force theater air control system.
In a new sources sought notice, the Air Force describes the need to upgrade the current Ground Moving Target Indicator system as well as to add new mission functions. The Air Force also wants better interoperability with the Advanced Battle Management System.
Upgrades will support sharing legacy and advanced sensor data, targeting data among air and ground shooters, and data feeds from the Ground Moving Target Indicator systems.
The RFI makes the Ground Moving Target Indicator system sound almost like a traffic cop that ensures sensors and other data is shared among several targeting systems. That system also will need to interact with the Global Hawk Block 40, the Air Force’s large unmanned aircraft platform.
The system also needs a variety of surface tracking elements and historic replay capabilities. The Air Force also wants data fusion capabilities.
