OASIS Pool 2 on-ramp competition begins for large businesses

GSA opens the competition for the on-ramp for the unrestricted portion of Pool 2 of the $60 billion OASIS professional services contract.
The General Services Administration has opened the competition for the on-ramp for the unrestricted portion of Pool 2 of the $60 billion OASIS professional services contract.
Earlier this year, GSA made 31 awards for the small business portion of the Pool 2 on-ramp.
Pool 2 covers certified public accountants, tax preparation, payroll, other accounting services and research and development in the social sciences and humanities.
Companies have until July 11 to respond to the reopened solicitation, according to a FedBizOpps notice.
GSA also announced that the on-ramp for Pool 6 is on hold, a change since a notice went out in May that announced the plan for Pool 6. Only Pool 2 is in the on-ramp process.
Pool 6 covers R&D in physical, engineering and life sciences except for biotechnology.
Currently, there are 23 primes in the unrestricted portion of Pool 2 and 37 primes in Pool 6.
Plans for on-ramps for the other OASIS pools have not been announced.
The government is increasingly using on-ramps to existing contracts as a way of injecting new technology and more competition.
Agencies can use on-ramps if the requirements of the contract have not changed.
In this case, GSA has simply reopened the OASIS solicitation.
