Black & Veatch hires Castro as federal lead

Black & Veatch hires former AECOM executive and retired DTRA Deputy Director Randy Castro as president of the federal business.

Engineering services provider Black & Veatch said Monday it has hired Randy Castro, both a former AECOM executive and Defense Threat Reduction Agency deputy director, as president of the federal business that operates as Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp.

Castro is a 35-year military and government services veteran who more recently was senior vice president of federal programs for AECOM’s technical services division.

The retired Army major general’s career includes roles such as commanding general of the Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division and Pacific Ocean Division, Commander of the Maneuver Support Center at Fort Leonard Wood.

Black & Veatch’s government business includes customers in the defense, intelligence and civilian communities for services in support of environmental and international development programs. The unit’s services include critical infrastructure, contingency engineering, asset management and energy.
