Applied Insight, DV United win $6.5M Army insider threat contract

Applied Insight and DV United have won a $6.5 million cybersecurity contract with the Army Cyber Command to help the command combat insider threats.

The team will provide a “user activity monitoring program” to identify threats.

Executives said the two companies captured the new contract because of other cyber work they’ve done for the Army and other parts of the Defense Department. The companies have experience in supporting cyber weapon systems, combating insider threats and supporting computer network defense efforts.

“We have a strong record of performance with the Army, which has given us a deep understanding of their cyber mission and systems,” said Greg Walker, president of Applied Insight.

Applied Insight is a 300-person IT services and consulting firm that came out of the former Intelligent Decisions when it was split into two companies by private equity firm Acacia Group. The Intelligent Decisions product business is now known as ID Technologies.

DV United is a joint venture of two service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses, the Alyn Group Technology and the Dalton Gang.
