A joint venture certified for the 8(a) small business program has won a potential nine-year, $2.56 billion contract to perform technical support work for an Army prototype integration facility.
Defense Systems and Solutions faced off against one other bidder for the contract, the Pentagon said in its Tuesday awards digest.
The contract supports the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, Engineering Center's Prototype Integration Facility that seeks to rapidly respond to warfighters’ demands and give them equipment through expedited prototype development, fabrication, integration, modification, experimentation and testing work.
DSS’ partners are Yulista Integrated Solutions and Science and Engineering Services, both of which are also small businesses. Yulista Integrated Solutions is a subsidiary of Calista Corp.
The incumbent for the work is Redstone Defense Systems, itself a joint venture between Calista’s Yulista Aviation subsidiary and Science and Engineering Services. Calista is an Alaska Native Regional Corporation.
