Deloitte adds former FAA acquisition chief Metts

Deloitte said Tuesday it has hired three-decade aviation veteran and former Federal Aviation Administration acquisition chief Chris Metts as a specialist executive in the professional services firm’s federal practice.

He will focus on work with clients to understand applications of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and mobility for air safety and efficiency, plus customer service.

Metts is a 31-year FAA veteran and held roles there such as chief acquisition officer and vice president of program management. After his retirement, Metts joined Harris Corp. and more recently was its vice president of global aviation and air traffic management.

At Harris, he focused on knowledge of international aviation and future trends anticipated to impact the U.S.’ national airspace system and global air traffic management.
