Peraton hires IC, Noblis vet Roger Mason

Peraton hires long-time intelligence community veteran and former Noblis executive Roger Mason as a sector president.

Peraton has hired long-time intelligence community veteran and former Noblis executive Roger Mason as president of the space, intelligence and cyber sector.

Mason will officially join Peraton on Jan. 8 to lead its business in the national security, civil space and intelligence community markets. Peraton said Thursday he will oversee strategy development and execution, program performance and growth objectives.

Herndon, Va.-based Peraton is the former Harris Corp. IT business that launched its current identity in July, nearly three months after its acquisition by Veritas Capital. Former Leidos and Science Applications International Corp. executive Stu Shea joined Peraton as CEO in June and he has made several other leadership hires since.

Mason's more recent role at Noblis was as senior vice president of national security and intelligence, where he led the nonprofit science organization's work with agencies involved in intelligence, defense, homeland security and law enforcement. Mason also led two Noblis subsidiaries focused on the IC.

Prior to Noblis, Mason was the country's first assistant director of national intelligence for systems and resource analyses. He advised the DNI on all issues related to intelligence capabilities, resources, requirements, systems analysis, program evaluation and cost analysis.

Mason is a recipient of the IC's highest award -- the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal.
