Peraton books $72M Army satcom contract

Peraton has won a potential five-year, $71.8 million contract to help monitor and maintain a satellite communications network for U.S. Army Pacific Command.

The Army seeks to connect with its allies in the Pacific Rim region in order to carry out missions related to security and stability there, Peraton said Thursday. The contract covers one base year with four one-year options.

Herndon, Va.-based Peraton will help Army Pacific Command procure and manage commercial satellite resources for fixed and mobile platforms that make up the Army’s network architecture.

Contract work will also include satellite services, engineering and technical support.
