Cubic Global Defense of San Diego has won a one-year, $11.6 million contract for training support from the Marine Corps before they are deployed.

The contract supports the Marine Air-Ground Task Force training systems support, which is managed out of Orlando, Fla., by the program manager training systems.

Marines receive the training before they are deployed and it covers joint military operations.

The training includes computer-based simulations, C5ISR training, combined arms staff trainer training, and tactical simulation training. Trainees include individual Marines as well as senior commanders and their battle staffs.

More than half of the training will take place at Quantico, Va. with the rest spread out at other Marine Corps locations.

The contract runs through April 2018.
