Obsidian wins $97M Marine Corps training development contract

Small business Obsidian Solutions Group has won a six-year, $97 million contract to help the Marine Corps develop training exercises.

Fredricksburg, Va.-based Obsidian beat out one other bidder for the contract that was reserved for small businesses with the 8(a) designation, the Defense Department said in its Wednesday contracts digest.

Obsidian will aim to help the Marine Corps create an immersive training environment that simulates a real-world operational scenario for joint, interagency, inter-governmental and multinational efforts.

The Marines’ goal for the audience is to prepare for operations in major combat operations, crisis response and limited contingency operations driven by command-and-control systems and program of record simulations.

Work will take place through Sept. 25, 2023. Obsidian was founded in 2010 and holds contracts with the Army, Navy, Special Operations Command and State Department.
