Booz Allen Hamilton has hired retired Army Gen. Dennis Via as a senior executive advisor and fellow for defense futures.

Booz Allen Hamilton has hired retired Army Gen. Dennis Via as a senior executive advisor and fellow for defense futures.

As a fellow, Via will work with defense, intelligence and homeland security customers understand the threat and budgetary environments, the company said. He’ll also work on Booz Allen’s business strategy for the defense market.

Via spent 36 years in the Army, including being commanding general and deputy commanding general of the Army Materiel Command.

Prior to his AMC roles, Via held signal and chief information officer roles in areas such as communication infrastructure, cybersecurity, global logistics, and research, development, and engineering for the Army and Department of Defense.

He is a graduate of Virginia State University and has a master’s degree in management from Boston University. Gen. Via is a native of Martinsville, Virginia, and was commissioned in 1980 in the Signal Corps.
