Navy taps 6 for $198M combat tech services contract

Six companies have won on a five-year Navy contract with a potential value of $197.9 million for technology services on the service branch’s combat instrumentation systems.

Contractors will compete for task orders to carry out research, development, delivery, sustainment and update work for the Navy’s family of Combat Environment Instrumentation Systems.

The Navy received six offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with 11 businesses solicited for a full-and-open competition.

Awardees are:

• Dynetics
• Engility Corp. (incumbent)
• Kranze Technology Solutions (small business)
• Leidos
• New Directions Technologies (small business)
• NuWaves

Lockheed Martin and Jacobs Technology were also incumbents, according to Deltek.

Deltek describes the CEIS contract as part of a thrust across the Defense Department to achieve commonality and joint interoperability for DoD ranges.

Ground and airborne technologies for CEIS include those used for navigation, threat targeting, manned and unmanned aerial operations, electronic warfare, countermeasures and warning.

Work will take place in Ridgecrest and Point Mugu in California.
