Foreign Service Institute wants a 21st center library

The Foreign Service Institute’s Stephen Low Information Center is no longer suited for 21st century workflows and FSI wants to integrate library enterprise resource software into the center.

FSI wants an Integrated Library System (ILS) that supports the searchability, findability, and discoverability of materials and resources relevant to current and future FSI training programs.

The new ILS should be accessible at all of the center’s staff through a browser or a cloud-based platform, or via a series of connection clients. Its Online Public Access Catalog should be visible to the FSI community on desktops and mobile devices with the ability to show results from multiple mediums.

FSI’s current ILS is over ten years old and is out of date. The institute wants an ILS that allows staff to streamline the user experience for information-seeking, search, and discovery.

The FSI released its request for proposals May 16. Responses are due by May 23.
