Army considers $48.5m small biz geospatial contract

The Army is considering how to proceed with a five-year, $48.5 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for integrating geospatial information across the department.

Currently, officials want to determine whether or not there are enough capable small businesses to set up a total set-aside.

Through the IDIQ, the Army would standardize the Installation Geospatial Information & Services (IGI&S) services and support for installations, regions, and the Army’s headquarters. The IDIQ would become a centrally managed contracting vehicle for use throughout the Installations, Energy and Environment (IE&E) domain.

Task areas may include:

• IGI&S program support, such as geospatial implementation strategies, developing long-term initiatives and plans to enhance geospatial capabilities.
• Spatial data standards for facilities, infrastructure and environment
• IGI&S technical support
• Enterprise geospatial system sustainment and maintenance
• The Army’s IGI&S program provides oversight on the creation, maintenance, and management of installation geospatial data.

The Army released its sources sought notice May 10. Responses are due by June 9.
