Navy issues solicitation for 5-year, $993.5M wireless IDIQ

The Navy issued a solicitation for a five-year, $993.5 million indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract for nationwide wireless telecommunications services.

The Naval Supply Fleet Logistics Center in San Diego anticipates awarding two or more IDIQ contracts to venders.

Along with telecommunications basics and relation operations, the IDIQ’s requirements include software, hardware, firmware, Enterprise Mobility Management services, and equipment.

Vendors must be able to provide service in and around the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and other areas served by other federal agencies that may use the contract. The service areas include all the states, even to cities with a population of more than 100,000. Furthermore, companies must show they can provide wireless communications—which encompasses all types of devices and transmission infrastructure—for government officials traveling worldwide.

Under the IDIQ, Defense Department end-users may be required to order all wireless services and related equipment through this contract. In addition, the IDIQ will be available to all government end-users, as an additional source to current contractual vehicles.

The Navy released the solicitation April 27, after issuing a presolicitation notice April 13. Responses are due by June 13.
