Marine contract in the works for air-ground logistics system

The Marine Corps is planning a contract for system integration and interoperability improvements to its Marine Air Ground Task Force Logistics Support Systems (MLS2).

The Marines released a request for information for post-deployment system support Dec. 2 and announced an industry day to further discuss their contract. They want to increase the interoperability between each of the MLS2s and between the MLS2 and the Global Combat Support Systems-Logistics Information Systems. They want to improve, or replace, interfaces using commercial-off-the-shelf modules and merging existing systems.

At the same time, the Marines want to improve the efficiency of sustainment and maintenance of the system to reduce the lifecycle cost. Officials plan to use the saved money to re-invest to support further reductions of lifecycle cost and support annually.

The contract would include several task orders, including project management. It also wants to integrate cybersecurity controls into the system architecture as well as acquire software maintenance, and system administration and product support.

The Marines will host an industry day Dec. 11 at the Quantico Corporate Center in Stafford, Va.

The Marines issued the RFI Dec. 2. Responses are due by Dec. 18.
