Air Force looking for innovations for 'kill chain' integration

The Air Force has asked for concept papers for addressing kill chain integration that includes intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance to have an in-depth awareness of emergent threats.

The Air Force Command Control Communications Intelligence & Network (C3I&N) Kill Chain Integration Branch develops and integrates advanced intelligence, cyber, and classified solutions for the Air Force, Defense Department and other national agencies.

In the new broad agency announcement, the Air Force has two topics of interest. First, it wants operationally focused ISR capabilities that meet combatant commander requirements while enhancing the end user’s experience. The capabilities include ISR modernization, enhancing situational awareness, mobile networking and communications equipment, and cryptographic operations modernization.

Secondly, the Air Force wants IT systems with agile mechanisms to detect, monitor, and isolate insider threats. The systems should also have ways to restore contaminated systems to trusted states.

The Air Force released the BAA Dec. 18. Responses are due by Nov. 30, 2016.
