Navy seeks support for R&D network

The Navy is checking the market for companies on its SeaPort-e contract, particularly small businesses, that can provide research, development, testing, and evaluation network infrastructure services for its teams, laboratories, and projects.

The contract’s work would include:

• Network engineering, architecture, design and implementation
• Network maintenance and operations
• Network circuits
• Network security/Firewall controls
• System administration
• Information assurance
• High Performance Computing coordination

Currently, the infrastructure at the Patuxent River/St. Inigoes locations in Maryland includes roughly 500 switches, more than 20 routers, and over 5,000 connected devices.

This contract is a follow-on to a previous Seaport-e task order held by The MIL Corporation.

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) provides products and full life-cycle support for naval aviation weapons systems, including research, design, development, test and evaluation, training, and in-service engineering. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division is a product center within NAVAIR that is the steward of the ranges, test facilities, laboratories, and aircraft necessary to support the Fleets requirements.

The Navy released its sources-sought notice Nov. 10. Responses are due by Nov. 25.
